Does anyone know a good source for an ipod update/conversion for an original 1971 Blaupunkt?

I should be more precise. The original radio is dead and needs to be restored. We want to keep the dash stock-looking but would also like to be able to play iTunes. I am looking for someone who can put new guts in the old housing and bring this unit back to life while still maintaining its appearance.

google (search terms "ipod radios classic cars") turns up up a wealth of resources.

How about Retrosound? RetroSoundUSA.com - 1968-85 VW / Mercedes / BMW / Porsche w/ Black & Chrome Trim Plate & Model One Radio (I see their readios in many of my resto catalogs)

Vintage Radio? - Vintage Car Radio .com
iPod® Interface Vintage Car Radio .com

OR perhaps: Vintage Auto Radio Services

Are you sure yu want to do this? .... Because it sounds expensive.
Why not get a brand new retro radio and store the original in a box.

I'm about to ditch mine and cover up the hole.

Beckerautosound sells an ipod cable that connects directly into the back of a Frankfurt. I ran it to my glove box and it works great on my '66.

Interesting thread here. I'm looking to do somewhat the same thing, only perhaps even more discreet.
All I want is a jack on the dash. Period. I'll control the volume with the iPod, and radio will come from it too. Cigarette lighter adapter will power the pod.
Can I either 1. go into a conventional car stereo, find where the cd signal enters the circuitry and tap in there, or 2. buy a straight up amplifier, get an 1/8 to rca adapter cord and away we go?

Din

Apparently al early 50's, 60's, 70s and 80's german radios/decks (Blaupunkt, Becker, Grundig, etc.) have, for some reason an auxiliary DIN input with you can use with the sole use of an adapting cable DIN/MINIJACK.
