Hargett shifter handbrake extension

So as I have started driving my 73 Targa more again I was back on here to see if anyone had figured out a solution to the handbrake problem and found what appears to be an idea that didn't get finished

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/447273-nice-solution-hargett-shifter-handbrake-problem.html

Anyone know if that "kit" ever became available? I got around the issue with the heater control and hand throttle by just wrapping zip ties around them so I can pull them up, then I can reach down into the shifter to push them down, but still no handbrake.

this is a custom made part so you can´t buy it.
Thought the pictures could help you if you want to build one...

Thanks, it looks great! Wish Hargett would just offer a kit of some sort!

That is a great solution. Should I consider making these for my customers?

Knowing Hargett quality, I would also be very interested in purchasing one of these. Sign me up also Mark.

Richard.

Yes, CoolCava Racing did complete the kit and sold a few to owners in both Europe and US. But I closed the UK company two years back. CoolCava Racing is now predominately a racing team, and as a company does some race car and street car work here in Finland. I handed the handbrake extension over to Mark to continue if he felt it valuable.

Talk to Mark and see if he is interested in making them. If not then I can see if we can still get them made in the UK - I would think that Mark could get them done at a better price though...

Any news on this? I bought a car with this shifter and am considering removing it because you cannot operate the hand brake with it in place. To my mind it's a serious safety flaw.

OK, If Mark will not make these, then I can look at price to have a new batch made up from my original design. But I want to do it as a group deal, do not want to keep a load in stock...

So I will get a price to have another batch of 5 or 10 made up, but is there enough people looking for these still?
