szyzygy, not sure where you are in SOCAL, but I do have room in my driveway, safe neighborhood, where a large truck can come get your car if this is what you need and you are pressed for time. You can PM me.

All set with intercity for sometime tomorrow or Friday. It's gonna cost me a little out of my pocket, but well worth it.

Thanks everyone!

Whatever happened to the olden days when your dad would throw all the kids into the back seat, tuck a cold beer between his legs androad trip?
I've driven across country 3 times all ready. Granted, not in a Porsche.
Besides the snow, I'm a little concerned some problem with the car might arise and leave me stranded with just days left until I start my new job and limited funds.

Thanks for the sweet offer, but I think I'm all set with Intercity now. They should be here tomorrow or Friday they said.

Oh the suspense!! May your ride make it unscathed for the New Year!

I am going to contact Intercity and get a quote on shipping a herd of vintage VW's my way.

Intercity took the car today. Larry was a nice guy and I totally got the impression that he loves cars/motorcycles and cared about my car and would treat her well.

The transport vehicle looked immaculate and well cared for - a hallmark of a company that cares about doing a good job.

I will sleep easy for the next 10-12 days until I take receipt of her again in snowy Vermont!

Thanks again you guys/gals, I can't believe this was possible with such short notice and during the holiday season.

Picked up the car today. Everything went fine and the car was untouched. It started right up even though its about 20 degrees out, though it did idle rough for a few minutes. Drive her home and took it easy on the drive. Parked in the garage, nice and warm add the snow falls. Some guy stopped as we unloaded it and said it looked just like his!
Thanks guys

Good stuff, glad to hear it all worked out. Don't enjoy shipping vehicles, always a little bit of a crapshoot.

There was someone on the forum that bought a 88 Carrera with a tail and the car carrier loaded it backwards on top of the carrier and the wind ripped the tail off durring the transport. The company didn't think it would be a issue with a car loaded backwards.

Intercity does a GREAT job. I've used them twice now and both times the result was perfect.
