Finished cleaning the bottom of the 72 and making it ready for reassembly. After 48 years of leaks and mud, I'll be able to spot the inevitable leaks.
Hopefully have it up and running again next week.

Pulled out the fresh air blower to examine the blower motor assembly since it was squealing. Spins freely after being cleaned and oiled. I ordered a new Bosch motor anyway and will replace it. Rubber flap material isn't looking very good but I don't see where they are a serviceable part. I may have to make new flaps before reinstalling.

I took it into the garage I'm building for it for the first time. Trying to decide where everything inside will go.

Were those just a straight drop-in without removing the rear deck? How do they sound, and any other upgrades in your stereo? I see they're Infinity, but do you have a reference number?

rear speakers
Quote:
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R6432CM/Infinity-Reference-REF-6432cfx.html?tp=100 Infinity Reference 4X6 There is a plastic trim that comes glued and fastened to the speakers. Once you remove this plastic trim, the speakers drop right in the rear deck. Taking the rear deck out takes just a few minutes and is pretty easy. But if you dont remove the deck, you just need a stubby phillips screwdriver to access the speaker cover screws. ![]() ![]() I have a stock Blaupunkt Bamberg powering these and the fronts

Put it on the a chassis dyno for the first time since the rebuild.
220 wheel HP at 5700 RPM and a flat torque curve also at 220. I need to get the carbs tuned so that’s the next step. Good start so far though.

Installed a couple of fans: The fender mounted oil cooler got an 8" fan from Elephant Racing. It was a tight fit, I had to add a small plate to the mounting bracket to offset the cooler a couple of inches aft so it would clear everything (barely). Replaced the crusty seal around the cooler while I was in there. I also replaced the fresh air fan. The original motor burned out and quit working. The oil cooler fan was a lot more work than I anticipated so no pics, fortunately the fresh air fan was easy.
