What did you do to your 911 today?

Added outside ambient air temperature sensor and gauge since I am obsessed with correct temp readings. Super accurate!

Took me a while to get the probe in the right spot - to the left of the ride side fog light, tucked under the bumper lip so no direct sunlight to throw off readings.

My driver's seat developed an annoying creak and Silverlock's seat swap inspired me to fix it and get rid of my ugly metal mounting screws and replace them with black screws.

I also somehow FINALLY found an irritating 3000 - 4500 RPM rattle after YEARS of chasing it down. The rear grill mesh was rattling against the Clewett rain hats.

Tell me about it. My rear parcel shelf developed a creak around 3500RPM (harmonics!) and so I’ve gone through and replaced all of the worn self-tappers that hold the 3/4 panels, trim and rear shelf down with fresh black oxide screws + finish washers to tighten it all up.

Tis the Season (especially with our forecast) to put the summer tires away. In my case, that included buying a new set of tires, Conti Extreme Contact Sport 2. Much more exciting than the regular Michelins that the W124s get...

I think I'm ready for spring.

Replaced the receiver dryer, and I’ve got the vacuum pump on it now. It’s been holding a vacuum now for about 2 1/2 hours.

Started to replace the flywheel sensors and CHT sensor, but I ordered the wrong CHT sensor. I don’t want to pull the flywheel sensors through the sheet metal until I get the correct CHT sensor.

No driving the car now for a couple days until I get the new part

^^^ Check your clearance between the gas tank and the sway bar. It can get close if off.

Thanks,
I will. My greater concern is the clearance between the sway bar and the brake pipes. As its a Right hand Drive, the pipes cross from the left side of the car to the right. And in that space between the tank and the cabin wall.

I love the straps, looks much nicer than the thing I rigged up.

I trust battery acid isn't going to eat the nylon straps over time.

I just tossed out a pair of wok gloves yesterday, pretty sure it was the battery acid from last weeks work.

As for my car, checked the battery tender last week and did a little something to keep the weather out of my work area.

Oil change, new oil filter.
Then replace the rear brake pads.

Then, while the car was on the lift, I cleaned a lot of tar off of the bottom of the car along the rocker panels.

And I cleaned a lot of dead bugs off of the front valance - spoiler area under the bumper. It is great to sit in my roll around chair and clean at eye level

I'm about to do Oil, brakes, etc... very jealous of the lift - I clean bugs out of the valence all the time - but I have to do it laying on the floor!!

Yea, the valance was covered in bugs, as I too hate to lay on the ground to clean the car.

And I did use my 3D printed oil funnel.

With 20-50 oil on a cool day, I started pouring it in with the spout of the of the oil bottle on the bottom, it glugs several glugs, and then I just shove the bottle all the way in, and let go. 100% of the oil empties from the bottle. Right now, only for 3.2 Carreras with the factory air intake.

We are hoping to get one designed for a stock SC this weekend.

It was time to get back on the Targa and install the Brey Kraus Targa harness bar. Hopefully less squeaks and rattles when we start driving again.
