This is getting uncomfortable Glen, my posts were a genuine attempt to help you with your charging problem based on my experiences over 40 years and I wish you luck sorting through the various opinions. And there are a few very strong opinions, some not very polite IMO. Its very tempting to have a good old fashioned ding dong argument about alternators and chargers and batteries, but you are looking for answers, not arguments, so good luck fella and be sure to post the solution when get it sorted.

(By the way, I had a good laugh at your opening sentence, really made me chuckle: I am electrically stunted, know just enough to start a good fire)
