Fuel Line Compatibility
Does anyone know if the hard fuel lines from an '86 turbo CIS 930 3.3l will fit on a '75 2.7l 911 engine? I know, longshot here, looking to upgrade my soft lines to hard lines, thanks.

![]() Better chance with injector hardlines from a 81 to 83 911SC as you have similar systems. Probably a lot more available than a turbo as well. Len

If you are talking about the hard metal lines between the fuel distributor to the injectors themselves..... no. On a 2.7, the fuel distributor is located in a different part of the engine compartment, and you have a completely different intake setup.....

Dont know why you would want to "upgrade"
Those nylon fuel lines are outstanding and last forever. If you need to do any CIS work or other engine work you just pull out the injector and shove it out of the way. Try THAT with a hard line .. i just find those hard lines a pain in the ass when working on the car.

Thanks for the advice folks. The outer hose "shell" is cracked and coming loose on the lines form the fuel distributor to the injectors. is this something I should be concerned about? The OEM lines are pricey, and, some seem to be NLA. Any recommendations for replacing these lines?

![]() A 75 911S motor w CIS has a few Polyamid lines with a rubber outer sheath, so they appear to be hoses but they are not. The plain poly tube is readily available, the rubber sheathed line is much harder to find or purchase. I have some on order from Gemany, and still don't know when it will arrive. Polyamid (plastic) lines are very durable, even with the new Ethanol fuels. If left alone, they will last the life of the car. When disturbed they begin to loosen at the fitting. If kinked they will fail. I have been making replacement Porsche fuel & oil hose assemblies for many years, but only recently started doing the CIS lines. If I could replace all the rubber hoses in a Porsche with Polyamid lines I would do that. Porsche began this with the 964 models and just about all vehicles built worldwide today use some sort of Polyamid or plastic lines wherever possible. Len

![]() Here's an update on what is presently available for CIS tube. The rubber sheath lines are NLA except for one larger 8mm ID size. I was able to order some of the Poly line with Braided SS outer sheath in the 2mm ID size,......... ![]() so I am now assembling injector lines. Once done I will post photos. I have a fellow Pelican in the UK who wants (2) full sets, so we will see how they go together shortly. Len

That's what I did BoxterGT.... but the braided Teflon/PTFE/Poly lines should last longer than anything else on the market. I ran mine from front to back. 6an size.
