Aluminum airbox
Hello all, back in the late 80's, after a nasty backfire, I replaced my airbox with an aluminum unit offered by a supplier in northern calif. this unit looked like a nice piece with a built in pop off valve. I have not had any issues with the unit since install and would consider it bullet proof. The supplier no longer offers this part, not sure when it became no longer available. Wondering if any others have installed this unit or heard of any experiences with it.

Ordered one back then (Automation??) but it was of the wrong size to be an exacting exchange, returned it. Probably why it is no longer available.

![]() ![]() Webb used to make them, getting quite rare and they do work great, but add no performance. This one for sale in the parts forum.

The one I bought and returned was cast aluminum.

Web still makes them once in a while. Saw one on ebay not long ago. Price was pushing $800 if I remember correct.

Man, I am honestly not fast enough appearantly --- I wish that I would have scooped up an aluminum air box for the 79 I am working on.
I guess that I will have to keep an eye open for one on the FS forum.

I saw one at PartsHeaven in Hayward about three months ago! It was at the bottom of a large pile of plastic ones!
