Transmission Problems?

I was getting a scrapping, tapping noise in my car recently. I started a "engine banging noise" thread about it.

Symptoms:

-no noise when car first starts up and is driven for a couple of miles.
-replaced all 4 CV joints this weekend (many thanks, Pete)
-transmission fluid replaced about 1 year ago. Still full. There were some metal hairs in the plug, but no big chunks of things.
-I'm pretty sure it makes the noise even when the clutch is disengaged but the wheels are spinning.
-If I start the car and keep it in neutral and rev the engine I do not hear the noise. Even after I have been hearing the noise. In this case it doesn't depend on if it's hot or cold.
-Shifting has been fine. The evil noise in question happens in all gears, but most noticeably when accelerating.
-replaced coupler with one from the Coupling Whisperer about 1 year ago.
-I have noticed that 3rd gear rattles my shifter when I first shift into it, under 3000rpm. Over that, and it's silent.
-5th gear has been tricky to get into since I installed the new coupler.
-Getting into reverse is hard to do 50% of the time; I sometimes have to put it back in neutral, let the clutch pedal out, and try again. It never grinds, its's just hard to find it, even when you pull to the right with force and search with force for the slot that heads towards your back.

There are several other threads on here with sounds bits that were included. Yes, those sound clips sound like what I am hearing. But these threads don't have any follow up about what was the problem!!!!

915 Transmission noise

Well . . . from the threads you posted . . .

This is the rest of the story - - -

He rebuilt the transmission and the noise went away . . .

You may have a different problem - but this looks like the most likely solution.
It is also possible that the shift coupler needs adjusting so the internal shift fork doesn't rub
-- and perhaps change out the fluid with new Swepco 201 or other suitable type of your choice.

Regards,
That's the thread i told you about earlier Andrew (Finally found it and i just got done rereading it when i found this thread).
Sounds an awful lot like your problem.
For anyone following along this is not a CV issue (all 4 are new ) not emergency brake related (disassembled and checked) not sway bar related. Random clicking/ popping noise (not repeatable). Have run it up on jack stands (no noise) drive it a few miles and noise returns. I'm stumped......Anybody have any thoughts?
