Suitable replacement tyres?

Hi I need to replace the 10 year old tyres on my 1982 911 SC. The car has 16" Fuchs fitted - needs 205 on the front 225 rear.
I am thinking of the current Pirelli P7 (car had the old style P7s when new!) - are they suitable?
Any other suggestions please? I am looking for a kinda traditional looking tread pattern also (has 2003 Goodyear Eagle F1 fitted currently - to me, they look horrible on the car...)

Lot of choices. Go to Tirerack.com and on the left side click "Tires by Size" and then select "Different size for rear tires?". That will let you select the front and rear sizes and see everything that has matching front and rear sizes.

Love the Hankook Ventus V12 Evos I have on my '85 w/ 16" Fuchs...no complaints at all, and they were very reasonable. My $.02, but tire choice, like oil, etc. is a "well discussed" topic.

You know the size you need that's the only part of the 'suitable' that others can chime in on. The rest is all personal preference, and what you're using the tires for that will determine what you choose.

You mention traditional tread design, then definitely spend some time looking at Tirerack since they show the tread pattern for each tire and you can choose from various types. Since an extreme performance summer tire is going to be drastically different than an all season touring tire but they're both suitable to someone's 911.

I just put RE11's on my SC, just as long as your not using them in the winter you will enjoy them.

In those sizes, I'd look at the Continental Extreme Contact DW tires
Continental*ExtremeContact DW
I had them on my other wheels and they were quiet and grippy, especially in the rains of South Florida.
