Get Wayne's Book & Others Cheap!

blah blah blah, post about some Internet dot com company that will be out of business in the near future, basically giving away books (including mine at cost)...

It's in bad taste to advertise a competitor on our BBS. It's also against the rules. This is your first and last warning.

I must say that I am disappointed in the banter on the BBS in my absence. People fighting, complaining, advertising my competitors? Do I need to baby-sit everyone all the time?

Sure feels like it (still in Malta)...

Oh, and another thing. Low-priced Internet books dealers like the one originally advertised on this post will be here and gone tomorrow. So will the Pelican BBS and this website if you don't support the 'home office'.

Wayne,

Point taken and I will refrain from posting such messages again. I thought any sale of your book would be good and if people got a great deal all the better.

Damn Wayne are you having any fun on your cruise? You seem a might *****y! I personally am plotting a full scale takeover of Pelican in your absence.

Ballsy Move, Kurt

If I was Wayne, sitting on the sundeck on a cruise ship trolling around Malta, and considering life as a full-time writer of the definitive line of Porsche DIY books, the I might just support your coup d'etat.

BTW, that fat Fedex package on your doorstep contains the routing plan for the server farm, the list of reconfigs and upgrades planned for the next couple of weeks, and the three level contingency plan for when the next wave of ISPs go dark.
Oh yeah, and dont forget to cycle the backup tape library every day before you compress the archives.

Just kiddin, but it staggers me that Wayne runs this site single handed, while running the Pelican business and writing his series of books. The guys a stud.

I can understand Will's train of thought (moving more of Wayne's product is a good thing - which we all support). Although I can understand Wayne's point of view as well.

that biz aside, Wayne needs to put down the computer and p/u a cocktail. Youre on vacation !!
Enjoy it !!

I'm a moderator, but I'm not sure if I would have censored the poster's link to a low-priced way to get Wayne's book.

On one hand, this is the Pelican forum. On the other, it's the Porsche community of owners that makes the forum (and Pelican Parts) a viable entity. Of course we're interested in cheap deals. But I understand Wayne's viewpoint as well in not turning the forum into an inexpensive advertising vehicle.

Okay, I probably would have nuked dude's post. Shrug.
