Jim Sims
For all of you who knew Jim, I wanted to let you know that he passed away last week, his funeral was yesterday. He was a brilliant scientist and posted frequently here on this board (his user name was just his name). He helped many of us with a wide range of issues, he was a true master of air conditioning systems and knew just about anything else someone might need help with. He was always informative and a true gentleman. The entire community at Los Alamos Labs will miss him, I know many here will as well. We can never have enough members like Jim.
Just wanted to pass this along to those who knew him or had received help from him on various projects.

I will be calling his wife later today to pass on the thoughts expressed here, I know
she will appreciate it. Any stories or personal thoughts you might have if you knew Jim or knew him from his posts would be helpful to her I'm sure.

Very sad. He helped a lot with fastener and electrical questions as well. I enjoyed hearing about the early car he rebuilt for his son.
My condolences to his family. |

The world is less cool now.
Best wishes to his family and I hope they find ways to make it through a hard time together. |

Every time I remove or tighten CV bolts (which is a lot lately given my frequent engine drops) I hear a voice in my head saying "clean out the internal wrenching feature."
The voice is the voice of Jim Sims. Never met him but his wisdom is with me and lives on here. RIP.

Very sad...always made a point to take anything he ever said very seriously since it always seemed to be backed up by very solid information and facts, and his extensive experience.

Jim Sims has been a GREAT balance for me in his past posts for learning the details of our A/C systems.
