Mechanic Bay Area

I need to find a good mechanic in the Bay area Northern California anybody out there knows one? I need a valve adjustment on my 1989 911 I've done everything else to tune it up oil/transmission fluid change, fuel filter plugs/wires cap and rotor. I think its a little to technical for me to do it.

I go to RMG in Sunnyvale for anything on my 88. Not sure how far you are from there.

I'd also attempt to do your valves @ home. It's a lot easier than you think.
You'll end up needing to dump your oil to do the change. Hope you didn't change it recently.

+2 for Tom Amon! As a top-shelf mechanic and a former race driver, he is hard to beat and is mobile at that.

Thew best part about having Tom A work on your car at your home is that he doesn't mind if you watch. Just remember he's there to adjust your valves and not to teach you how to do it - ;>)

Don Wise

Don Wise at Wisewerks in Campbell has taken good care of my '86 Carrera for years. He just did a tech session for PCA Loma Prieta.

Sent you a PM and an email. Not very good with computers so ... anyway, I was lucky enough to have found a great guy in Crockett, CA. Peter Sorensen of P.B.R. Restorations. Give him a look, even if you don't use him, you'll have gained a new friend and met someone who appreciates these fine cars!

+1 for Don. Great guy and extraordinarily knowledgable. He's probably too far out of the way since you're in Brentwood.

The SF Bay Area is truly blessed with great (plus good and not so good) Porsche wrenches.

Yes, the Bay Area's got some great ones. My favorite in the East Bay is Bauer Porsche in Oakland - really good and they're also very nice, helpful folks to deal with. Plus, you can walk to the 19th St. BART station from their shop.

Porsche Repair Oakland CA, Auto Repair Shop, Auto Parts Store, Auto Restoration Service, Auto Electrical Service, Auto Tune Up Service - Bauer Porsche

Also nearby is Porboys German Auto Service. Another really good option.
