Question Trying to get it covered

If this is the wrong place to post this question, then I do apologize.
I have a '79 Targa with a beat up dash. I have purchased a new dash for it, but since I need to pull the windshield to remove the old and install the new, I am going to wait for paint to put the new one in.

In the mean time, I would like to find a dash cover to help improve the interior a bit. I know our host sells one, however, my question is what other options are out there? What have you use to cover your dash? Keep in mind I cannot remove the current dash to install a cover - that would defeat the purpose. Also, for what it's worth, I would like the cover to be black.

So please show me your dash cover and let me know where you got it.

THANKS!!!

There are many past threads on all imaginable forms of dash covering/refinishing (someone even started a thread recently on how he used Plasti Dip), if you type keywords such as "dash" and "covers" into the search box (I just did and there are dozens of them).

Thanks Ronnie. I also did the search and you are right about the number of results. What I found is that a lot of these, including the thread you mentioned, offer a fix that involves removing the dash. It is not my intention to do this.
I am trying to get an idea of what types of cover people have had success with. I have also Googled this and found a lot of results which have carpet as the solution. I am a bit hesitant of a carpet cover as I think it would look worse than the plastic one.
From the search results, seems the plastic one offered here isn't bad (based on the one review), but the guy had so screw in down and still have the windscreen out. As well it is also $125 + S&H which is seem high for a temporary fix.
I am just wondering if anyone has used, and been happy with, carpet or vinyl or whatever. And if so, where did they get it.

Again, thanks.

The plastic one recommends windshield removal for installation but I have installed them without pulling the glass by trimming the outer edge. I have one in my car now and it doesn't look horrible. I really don't notice it very often...
It is available for under $100 if you look around on line and in the classifieds.
I have a dash that I restored and recovered, but like you I will be doing some painting before I pull the windshield and swap it out.
