I just got a set of factory oil cooler lines that I need to install on my 1975 to hook up to an external cooler. Of course my car has a C2 Turbo conversion and the side rockers are glued-in and not factory (see picture). Since I didn't think of the issues before putting them on (duh!!)..now I'm facing this problem. I have to run the 2 long lines under the rockers and don't know what to do, if I cut the bottom of the rockers, it will be really hard to re-attach the fiberglass pieces. If i take off the entire rocker, I will have to have it glued in and repainted...right after getting the car back from the body shop!! What other options do I have and has anyone ever ran into a similar problem? Any suggestions? How about using just racing braided oil lines and shove them under the rocker, would that work? Also can anyone take a few pics of the their lines under the car and post them? I'm trying to figure out where the exact location for the clamps are, and a few nice pictures would really help me!
Thanks! --Michael |

That would be a problem.
I suspect you will eventually bite the bullet and cut them off . ![]() When you do, here are some installation pictures that should help

Michael,
You may want to explore running some flex hose instead of the rigid factory lines. You should have some space to route the lines above the FG rocker where it curves under the body. It won't be "factory" but again, neither is the body kit. Should be fine as long as it looks neat and professional and works to transport oil back and forth. Try -16 lines first as it has a slightly larger ID (and OD) than -12. Stainless braided hose is pricey and not necessary. Not sure about your cooler location, but it's better to mount it in the front bumper. MHO, Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org/911pcars |

Thanks all for the info/suggestions. I'm gonna call my mechanic and see what he suggests also.
