Here too in Colorado... We kinda bought out three stores in the Arvada area - sorry...

Great deal and is on until the 28th or 29th I think. Great time to stock up!

Also, found that Walmart was much cheaper for Mobil1 than any of the FLAPS if you also have a newer car...

It's on sale here in Ohio, also. It's not advertised. I had someone scan a quart and he was surprised that it was $3.99 as opposed to th $5.99 on the label on the racks.

20w50 non synthetic here. It ends up that I am changing the oil about every 2000 miles which puts it at every 6 months.

Thanks for the heads-up! I just bought out two different stores in Northern VA for 3 cases, total...saved me almost $60.

It should get me almost all the way through next summer, depending on how many track weekends I end up doing.

Nothing wrong with saving a buck or two. But out of curiosity, what is the zinc content compared to Brad Penn?

I did some Googling. I found one post suggesting that VR1 has a ZDDP content of 1300 PPM and Brad Penn has 1400 PPM of ZDDP.

I've read other posts suggesting that high performance and flat tappet motors should have a ZDDP content of at least 1200 PPM.

I'm no oil genius. I know nothing and have no opinion to defend. Please don't beat me up over this - I'm just posting what I found based on some Google results. I blindly use VR1 because it's relatively inexpensive, readily available, and the Internets told me to. This Pelican post has great info, too.

Very good info. I might have to consider at my next oil change. BP has been my go-to oil for a while but it is expensive and tough to find locally.

Halm, you should consider a quick trip to High Point some time and hit Kennedy Oil, the Brad P. distributor. He's selling cases and pallets all day long for about the price of the on-sale VR or less. He'll sell at the counter no problem, give a call and check pricing. Think you'll be surprised.
His big customers are probably race teams and all the local BP resellers. I get a years worth when I stop in.
