sticky street tires?

Hankook Ventus RS-3 are perpetually on backorder. Suggestions for an equivalent street/performance tire?

I recently put Bridgestone RE750 Sport tires on both of my cars. Great tires at a reasonable price.

I have Conti DWs on one car and Bridgestone RE-11s on the 911. I like them both for different reasons.

This is going to sound odd, but I'm starting to appreciate the Goodyear All-Season tires I have on my car. Not only are the tall 60 series tires a less bumpy ride than sporty 50 series, there are additional attributes.

I can accidentally get a squeal from the rear tires when up shifting, and brake the rear end out on a fast tight turn (and regain control) for that on the edge excitement.

In addition at this time of year the cold doesn't change the character of the rubber all that much.

The real bonus is the even wear of the tires and the long thread life, a real money saver in the long run.

Sure, sticky street tires are a riot because they let you get away with a lot. However for a reto ride into what rubber used to be, you may wish to look into some of the All-Season options.

Below 50 degrees with a summer rubber blend is downright dangerous, and cool fall driving is my favorite.

Tire Rack is the US distributor for Hankook tires. The RS3's I bought recently (17") were initially backordered for about a month. I got two from them and the other pair from Online Tires. Also, try Tire Central in San Gabriel, CA. Best prices if they have your size.

I also like my Pirelly P-Zero Nero M&S all seasons tires here in Southern California. Since they are softer than pure summer tires they stick to the road very well. And when the weather gets colder the handling is still excellent.

I've been running Falken 615K's on my mini for the past year and have no complaints. Plus, they tend the be slightly less expensive than comparable tires.

Hi,

I like Toyo R1R extremely well. Also the price is great!

The feel is even better than with R888, although I have not compared laptimes.

The compound is comparable to R888, the structure is more comparable to a road tyres (less stiff in the side walls)

Bridgestone Re-11A. Comfortable, stick like glue. Also yoko AD 08, which have a quicker turn in, but don't ride as well as the Bridgestoness. Either is a great tire choice
