That and "how expensive is it gonna be to repair out of warranty" which is when I'll be able to justify buying that car ;-) That said, with kids and stuff, I've sort given up on purity of purpose for my vehicles. Yes it weighs more in the wrong places (rear and top) and saps 0.2 seconds 0-60 I think, but at the end of the day it wouldn't be a track car anyway... Hell, I thought the world ended when I sold my CaymanS and I think I prefer its replacement Audi S4, actually ! Before anyone says I'm getting old and soft, I gave my 72 911 a good trashing the other day, just because...

That is the main reason I traded in my BMW 335i Cabriolet just before my warranty ran out. They had to fix 4 micro switches that had gone bad. Switches cost $200. Labor to disassemble and reassemble the roof $2,500. The service advisor managed to get it done under warranty.

I now have a soft top convertible.

However in my advancing age I am beginning to lust after the AMG SL63 as my next convertible.

Definitely would have stoplight envy if you pull next to someone at that stoplight and their car goes through this transformer mod next to you.
This car weighs 195kg=430lbs more than the RWD coupe! But this includes PDK and the AWD system. It should be noted that you can only get it in all wheel drive configuration presently though.

I think the Targa is beautiful and Ronnie.930's homophobic statements are getting really tiresome.

So then why do you continue to read them? The humor impaired should definitely steer clear!

kinda doubt that statement....

Well, despite Ronnie's banana ... I think the Targa is an awesome design for the 21st century. I want one! I plan on winning the PCA drawing for one, which will solve any problem I might have about paying for it. ha ha

Nineball- take you a while to look that up?

Check out the production models, you know, like the ones that some people here own. Butzi looks very accomplished in that pic there, with his prototype. Thanks for the great period shot. I may well make it my wallpaper.

Edit and yes, that is his original vision. Short Wheel Base. Elevated ride height, soft window, Targa. Pity they are so unappreciated now days.

These are amazing.

My mother-in-law is the unknowing beneficiary of a 2014 991 Targa, ordered as pictured here with a 6-speed.

I can't wait to photograph it and my '78 side by side
