I've been using Hagerty for over 18 years and have been very happy.
Along the way I've had three claims: one, mouse (ate hole); two, tree fell on car and three, me being stupid (light bulb burned hole in tonneau cover). YMMV

Regarding American Collector Car Insurance, here is a quote that I just received from the shop that did my car:

"For a car with stated value insurance, I have never dealt with a company like this. I have never had this much trouble with a company."

State farm would not help, even for a 32 year customer!
After 1 year (no claims) with American, I got the renewal notice with new annual price $750 ! !
Talking to a friend who had Continental Western for decades convinced me to try them. Same numbers exactly, except premium now $207/yr. I'd never heard of them, but they were very efficient - wanted usual photos - so I will see how this goes!
State farm agent told me they could not cover stated value of $40,000 - period.
You've got to wonder!

Got an approval from Grundy today. No DE, AX, timed event coverage. Pretty standard.

The only issue is waiting to get someone on the phone. I hope I don't ever have to claim.

Something is not right here, or your driving record changed. I've had American for 5 years. During that time, my premium has never changed, unless I upped the value. I have a$500 deductible, 3500 mikes per year and $30k stated value...premium is $187. My policy is not up fir renewal until next May.

Here's my 2¢.

AAA-No "driving awards", no "bump in the night", no claims.

$194.00-25K Value-Full coverage-No deductable.

Been with them for 46Yrs.

As I say, it makes you wonder what is going on. Maybe the price depends on other variables, like credit rating, accent or if the agent has a boat payment due? I'd rather change than argue with them, but only time will tell if this was a good decision.

Bumping this thread up... I need to start shopping for insurance again. Hagerty sent me a renewal letter today - they're looking to get $648 / year now... too rich for my blood.

This happened in the beginning of November. I had an agreed policy from Hagerty. After spending many days in the hospital, when I had the ability to talk with my agent his questions were, "Would I like to buy it back?" and "Where should he send the check?". I took longer for my bank to release the funds than it did to get paid. I will recommend them over and over again. photo 1416011922.jpg

Well, you never know how good of a deal you are getting on insurance until you need to use it.

I use Classic Collectors by Infinity. $22,500 agreed value, $250 deductible, 100,000/300,000, 6,000 miles per year. $172.00 annually.

I had a guy back into me in a parking lot. He had Gieco. I called my insurance company to let them know and they said not to do anything. My insurance sent an adjuster out, told me to let them handle Gieco and my insurance cut me a check.

The other thing they did that I thought was cool was they automatically increased my agreed value due to the cars appreciating (increased the value by $2250 from last year to this year. My premium did not change with this value increase.

I am very pleased.
