The Burgundy Thread (selfish plug)

So a thread like this was started on the Early911 forum and I thought I would be cool to see any other Burgundy cars that exist here.

Just got this together and went for a drive today. Big thanks to Aaron Burnham for convincing me that a big bore MFI motor with some fire in its belly can purr like a kitten as well as put you in jail.

Here's mine . . .

CharlieB . . . That is a damn nice car. Can you tell me was that an original color for an SC. One day I'd like to own an early SC, in burgundy of course!

Yes the observant one's have notice the added spark to this motor. It's a Burnham Performance twin-plug distributor. Simply a piece of art. Almost killed me to put it in the motor. Fired with dual MSD6AL2's and required to support 10.3:1 89mm pistons.

Thanks for the comments.

Let's see some more burgundy!!!

What cams are in your nice (almost a) 2.5? I am assuming you kept the 66mm crank. Knowing Aaron anything less would be uncivilized.

He does impeccable work.

Here is my entry. I had my hands all over it but don't own it. 1984 Carrera with a 3.3L 930 engine. The engine has been massaged with custom cams, EFI and a larger intercooler. It goes fast.

These were taken before the decklid was reinstalled. yes. Those are real mirror bras. Keeping the bugs off the mirrors is important you know.

Yeah the cams are DC60's from John Dougherty with his springs and retainers. Nice power curve and strong to about 7.5k. Of course, Aaron would have preferred DC80's but they would need more compression.

I've got no complaints with the DC60's . . . for now.

TomC: My 80SC was a metallic paint to sample. Paint code on the door plate is 017-9-2. I think this is a 68 to 70 color!

Having some fun at Mosport. Garnet red metalic LM3Y/822

I have an all fibreglass carrera spoiler to put on (no rubber lip), I think it will look quite good.

Thank you, the phone camera blurred the imperfections beautifully.
