Gas=$85.01

Last night my reserve light was flickering so I filled up with 93 octane. The total came to $85.01 and 19.96 gallons at $4.259 per. It got me to wondering who's spent the most filling up their 911/912. Here are the rules:

1) must be an air cooled model
2) must have a stock gas tank; no fuel cells etc.
3) must use 'normal' gas from a station…no race or special fuel etc.
4) must be in US dollars (convert if necessary)

I'm guessing $85.01 will be half of what some of the Europeans have to pay. Have at it!

In northern California gas is $4.30 a gallon for regular unleaded. Buying 20 gallons of premium is scary.

With that said, here in London gas is the equivalent of $10/gallon. Good to keep things in perspective.

Is it bad I have no idea what gas costs anymore as the company pays for it?

Gas in Sweden is roughly 8 USD per gallon at the moment.

On my recent trip to California I spent right at $75 for a tank of gas. No doubt any of the European drivers can beat that with ease.

If gas is 10 bucks a gallon a $200 fill-up is very possible.

Disclaimer, I started driving in the early 1970s. I can remember pulling into a gas station and a attendant came out and pumped my gas, washed the windows, check the tire presser & oil level and asked about my family (we all stopped there) and it was 3 bucks for a full tank of gas. The first time I had to pay five bucks to fill up I thought it was outrageous.

I filled up Bwunhilde last Saturday. I had only done 196 (almost all track) miles on this tank, so I was sort of surprised to see that the low level light came on right before I pulled into the station.

20 gallons of 93 octane ethanol free at $3.999/gal came to pretty darn close to $80.

Filled up last night, 18.4 gallons or so. Here in Milwaukee that cost me $73. I get around 20 mpg with a mix of city and light highway driving.

Once a couple of years ago I had to swipe my card a 2nd time - it stopped at $75. Fortunately my wife wasn't in the car at the time.

Why waste your money on 93 on a 78SC? The car was designed for 87. If you want to feel like you're giving it a treat, buy some 89.

Anyway, NY fuel prices are insane, usually 20 cents more per gallon than NJ. Whenever we head into NY, we always start with a full tank to avoid having to buy gas. Plus you have to pump the gas yourself, it's so uncivilized....

To answer your question, I'm too chicken to run it down to the point where the reserve light turns on. Somehow, I always end up spending about $55 to $65 to fill up. The current price for regular in my area is about $3.50/gallon ($0.92/liter).

Yep, the mid-Atlantic region, DC/MD//VA (DMV) area to be specific.. would be in that $73-$85 to fill with premium.. in some cases more!

Prices are all over the board through out the U.S. While It has been said that we, the in U.S., have the largest reserves of oil, and we get the lion’s share of oil produced by both Saudi and other countries including Russia, if I’m not mistaken?
Yet there is always seems to be a crises (the refinery in this state got hit by a tornado, the one in this state is flooded, others are switching over to summer or winter blend, or a conflict in east-Jablip. So,these disaster/situations always affect what we pay at the pump... always upward, yet after the crises, the prices never come down below, or to where they were prior to the given incident.

I'm just say'n..

For years PA had a $50 limit per swipe. It was pretty annoying.

Down in PA/NJ where I have been doing most of my driving (to the beach and back to Philly) I have been just at about $4 a gallon but I usually fill up with a 1/4 tank left or anytime Im heading back into the city so the car is always ready to roll.

Regards
Dave

Gas here is $1.45 a litre. The most I've had to put in was around $108.
