Thanks I cant wait as well. I have a few ideas on how i'm going to modify them, but I dont know if it will work until I get them.

Since I am going with steel flairs I started ordering parts and on that note does any one have a driver fender for sale that they would be willing to throw on a gray hound bus? My passenger fender arrived the other day!

My ground control camber plates came in as well!

So I started on my camber boxes. I need about 1 inch of positive camber on each side to be with in spec.

A set of tabs I used on another project they are the perfect size for my aliment jig for my camber boxes. I'm also reusing the emt tubing I used to brace the 70E.

I started a set of camber plate mounts they still need a bit of trimming, hopefully they will be finished and installed next week.

Unfortunately the camber boxes will not fit between the fender mount area. So I will have to remove a section to let it pass through into the fenderwell. I found a photo of a 935 doing the same thing I plan on doing.

I also bought a new toy I still new to modify it and beef it up so it can bend 11 gauge steel.

Just so I am clear. Your new plan is to graft the Boxter mechanicals into the SC tub correct? Good luck with whatever you are doing. It is fun watching.

Edit, I must have been on another thread of yours. Is there an old one? Rock on.

Yes, I have completely grafted the Boxster rear unibody frame in place the, shiftier tunnel, floor braces and front sub frame so far. Now I am making a set of camber boxes to match the wider stance of the boxster. There is another thread where I was trying to decide to convert it to mid engine or make it all wheel drive. I decided on mid engine for better handling.

To day, I bent up some 11G sheet, the top plates are 1/8 plate

First one done!

Still need to clean up the welds on the second box and trim them.

Tomorrow I will be picking up a laser level and will hopefully get them installed.

What's the plan for the rear engine compartment with regards to keeping fumes out of drivers cabin?

I'm not sure what you mean? It will be just like the boxster or cayman it will have all the engine covers installed when finished. Though I am thinking about installing a clear engine cover.

I also just noticed I never posted the camber boxes installed.

I also removed a few inches where the battery went to match the passenger side, so I will have for room for the radiators.

I also bought a one piece turbo fender It got a bit warped in shipping.

First test fit does not fit at all.

I had to use all my body weight to get the fender to the door mount area

but its still super warped

Its a little bit better after a little massaging

Still needs a bit of work but more of that later. I believe I straightened out the front end but forgot the pic. The fuel door will be in tomorrow. I will hopefully test fit it and see what it will take to weld it shut.

It's fascinating to me to see three year long projects that are not even half way done.
I do not have the patience some people do...

I got a bit side tracked and ended up building a Rat Rod half way through the build.

You would think so the way I pace around the garage trying to deiced the best way to make something. Then trying to deiced if it will work with all the other components.

At first I thought you were crazy, but your talent and passion outweigh it. Can't wait to see the finished project.

I don't want anyone to get the wrong Idea, I just may be crazy. I have had this terrible idea since the start of the build of running an audi or subaru STI transmission, Then having a custom tail housing made that would be similar to a transfer case but only have a forward facing yoke that would hang straight down, then I would run a low profile drive shaft under the center of the engine. Then connect to a second drive shaft to a 996 c4 front diff. It probably will not happen but I have been kicking around the idea for a few years. So I suppose you could call me crazy.

With that said back to the madness... humm build. So I have been putting this off for a while now as I knew it would be a pain to do as the proportions of the 996 and 911 are very different. The front end and cockpit of the 996 has a lot more height compared to the 911. So with using the 996 shifter tunnel, front pan and gas tank mounting the 996 pedal box and steering column have proven to be a challenge. To get the correct pedal height I have had to trim a lot out of the pedal mount to get it to tuck up into the dash. Which brings me to my next issue the steering column. To get the steering column to fit it has to be removed from the pedal mount as it will need to set a few inches lower. That and its a little two long to fit in the pedal box. On top of that to get the steering column and steering wheel straight I would need to move the pedal box mount but if I do it will be two close to the gas pedal. So I ordered a 993/ 964 steering column it will bolt to the dash in the stock location and it should be skinny enough that it should not interfere with the pedal placement. That and it looks like it has the same spline shaft as the 996 so it may fit the 996 steering rack spline. However it does look quite long so I may run into more fitment issues. Also even if I get the steering column and pedals to fit I may still have fitment issues with the brake booster. The 996 brake booster is huge and from my test fitment it looks like the master cylinder will interfere with the hood. So I may have to go with a floor mounted pedal box though that will probably give me a whole nother set of problems. But for now I will have to wait for my 993 steering column to come in.

I welded in a strip of 11g sheet to mount the firewall to it will also double as a reinforcement for the pedal box and mounding point for a few components.

I also started on the hood latch panel. It has a bit of rust I needed to clean up. I wire wheeled and sandblasted it and I acid etched metal just to make sure I got all the rust.

I decided to use the panel off the 70E instead of buying a new one as I only need the top of the panel as I am going to cut out the center section and make some duction for a center mount radiator.

since I am waiting on the 993 steering column I decided to start on the third radiator cooling ducts.

I'm looking to mount the third radiator out of a 996 it's about 29Wx7.5Tx2.5D Though I may just have a custom one built. That aside I have been collecting ideas for a center mount setup for years. I have made a rough mock up of what I am planing on doing. Thought I don't know if it will flow well enough. For the size of the radiator. My plan is to make some sheet metal ducting on each side on the inner nose of the car. My main concerns are there will be a flat panel behind the radiator about 3 inch behind it. There will be two 6x8 rectangle holes to the ducts on each side if the panel. The exit will also be 8x5 and will exit into the wheel well pretty much inline to the brakes.

The flat panel, The holes are not cut in it yet.

This area can be opened up a bit more.

The setup should look like something like this.

This is the third radiator I plan on using installed on a RWB 964 with a turbo 3.6 996 engine. He has the radiator installed upside down which I think is a bad idea as it probably has a huge air pocket in it. But he also has a custom made set of side mount radiators like I plan on doing.

I started on the upper ducts. I bought a new die for my bead roller so I tried my hand a some cross hashing. I think they turned out ok. They could be better but they will be painted.

I also welded in a piece of square tube. I should be able to use it as a mounting point as well as use it to help regain some of the strength that I removed when I removed the panel.
