I sent Lseat.com a question last night about matching rear seat kits. Their reply this morning was:

Quote:
Sorry. We do not have rear seat pattern yet. However. You could consider send your factory seat covers to us. So we will able to make the new covers for you.

I got a reply from Lseat (through Amazon). They asked me to send pictures of my seats, I did, and they verified. The A2 is the pattern for the 87 Coupe Sports Seats.

Anyone installed theirs yet?

I'm holding off...might install new foam on the bottoms...Amazon does sell some nice foam of varying thickness. Can always glue multiple pieces together the cut with an electric knife.
May go with a professional too...still thinking. Have them out by the 911 so I look at them every day...there's that.

So is their "charcoal black" the same black as, say, in my '88 Carrera? The name charcoal seems to imply something other than just black but maybe thats the actual name?

This is my understanding. I am on the verge of pulling the trigger. My car is 85 with sports seats. A2 with perforated inserts is what I am going to order.

Order a swatch from them and make a comparison. Their scarlet is a great match for my lobster color.

I pulled the trigger yesterday and when they come in I will take it to a local upholstery shop my mechanic recommended. Weird because when I went to pick up my car yesterday from the shop, my mechanic had written the name of the upholstery shop (without me asking)...I think he was sending a message that I needed to do something with my seats.

Also curious as well about Lseat leather (quality but also thickness of the leather). I'd like to replace the front seat covers in my DD BMW. The price is awfully low - too good to be true..?

We're spoiled with the quality dyed leather in our old Porsches, most leather seating in new cars is painted, it just doesn't hold up the same way. I'm wondering if that is what Lseat sells.

Well I sent them two samples of my Cork interior over a week ago and followed up with a email last week and still have not heard back. Anybody else have a cork interior and received a sample from them that looks close to the original?

I still have my charcoal leather covers sitting by my car...they look and smell great. $299 hmmmm
How bad could it be? You could screw them up 5 times, or buy the $1500 covers, which undoubtably are better...German cows and such....they sent me two pair...I thought one was a template, they want it back....I'll send it to them when their label gets here. Probably can't make another one until they get it back.

Plus, it's Amazon...if you don't like it send it back...I crapped 299 this morning.

Just in case any one was interested in what a set of cashmere beige leather seat covers with black binding from Autoberry look like, here they are. I'm extremely happy with the quality of the leather. I'll be starting to pull apart my old covers over the next few days. I can already tell there are hog rings everywhere! Also as a nice souvenir, I guess the original upholsterer in the Porsche factory wrote down the details of the seat in his own writing. I don't read German, but I can make out the first line saying Cashmere Beige.

Two emails and no response after sending them samples, customer service is pretty weak in my opinion.

Perhaps he/she/they have been overwhelmed with requests as a result of this thread.
For close to a thousand dollars in savings, I can tolerate slow email responses!

E-mails can become a real pest... That is why Richard at PMO still use phone and fax.

Subbed this thread! I have a weary set of Cashmere Beige seats that are screaming out for new covers! I hope you will follow up with updates on your install progress. I am keenly interested in a cover set that installs without the waviness and wrinkles that I have seen on some other venders products. Your new Autoberry covers look great, and at the base price of $700 a set is a nice compromise between $299 and $1500.
