AC delete people?

Hey folks.
Been reading the PP threads about air con delete. Haven't had the guts to do it yet, but I have a broken air conditioning compressor mounting bracket.
Any of you hardcore a/c delete folks want to sell me the part?
Its part number 930 126 116 02.
That's the aluminum brace that goes from the forward end of the a/c compressor mount forward along the top of the right hand cam cover.
My car is an 87 3.2 but I'm guessing the same part is on lots of pre-'90 cars.
Cheers-
Sheldon

Sorry Sheldon, I'm keeping mine in case I update the a/c. I'm sure though you could find this part pretty easily in specialized salvage parts places, like nineapart.com or anyone like that (you can check in the adds section in Excellence Magazine, there's a few of them). Good luck.

I would say that you should delete the whole system so we don't get another 69 page 1359 post air conditioning thread!

Good luck with your search and try the 911 classified ads and post a WTB thread.

You mean this? I just finished up removing the a/c from my 1988. Saved 52.33 lbs, really cleaned up the engine compartment. Heat backdate comes next.
P/N 930 126 116 02. PM or email me.

...and the engine compartment looks so much better without the compressor, condenser and all the plumbing.

The side benefits include much easier access for valve adjustments and better engine cooling. Yeah, it can get toasty in the Summer when you are sitting at a stoplight but that's the tradeoff. Deletion isn't a good choice for a daily driver you live in a hot climate area and your wife or S.O. probably won't approve. It all depends on how you use your Porsche. If you need effective A/C, call Griffiths ($$$$) or get a 964 or 993. Those cars have much better HVAC systems that were not an afterthought as on the pre-1990 911's.

Why in the heck would you remove your Carrera AC when if it is working you can cool the interior down to 87 degrees from 95!!! I just do not get it?

Hi Charwood

The smaller of the two parts is the one I need. 930 126 116 02. I've already sent off a note to Snitzler - he has one and I think he can solve my problem. Thank you. If that doesn't do it, I'll be back to you.
Cheers-
Sheldon

I sent you 2 emails on your gmail account. Maybe it is blocked as spam or junk? You also won't accept emails through Pelican. Maybe unblock that. The bracket is ready to ship.
