Congrats on a beautiful 3.2! I love the polished wheels on a black car, reminds me of my dad's 86. Enjoy!

Some H4 headlights and it's pretty much perfection, at least asthetically.

So she came off the truck and looked amazing.
So far I have put about 350 miles on her since Friday afternoon. Interior, exterior is as described on pre-purchase. Pretty sharp over all. Motor is strong, runs idles well, revs strong, pulls hard. Leaves a drop or two overnight. Occasionally drips on the headers and smokes it out...kinda freaky the first time I saw it at a red-light. Bottom valve covers are leak and drip. Tranny is a bit "crunchy" kind of slow careful shift between gears. Some of it is user error, but I think it prob needs new bushings and syncro's may be an issue...i could use some of ya'll experience and knowledge to guide me through this. I want to post some photos but wife unit is yelling at me to get in the car...we have a play date. This means I get to drive the car. so I will post tonight.. Cheers. |

I agree.
Welcome and have fun with your new toy. Before you start any modifications just drive it. Wait a while and learn about your car. Drive it and find out what really needs to be done, and what is fine as is. Make the car your own and tweak it to fit your tastes. Just keep in mind the more you modify it from stock with hard to change back mods the more you hurt future resale. Get out there and drive it!

It is REAL easy to dump a ton of money into any car and especially an air cooled 911 on modifications. As I mentioned drive it and lean the car. Then do the mods as you wish.
Many on the board spend mega bucks doing a back date to long hood. To reverse that is the same many grand in money. I am not saying that is wrong, it is just not my tastes. It is your car, number one job is to enjoy the car.
