Cam, how's the car shapping up?
The early car, not the "in bits" one?
And are the brakes working well with Johns recommendation? |

Sad but true Bill - I haven't driven it since I posted those pics of driving out to the Awhitu peninsula a few weeks ago.
I just don't have time - I took Friday off work to finish reinstalling the (nobody laugh) upgraded drums on the BMW and spent a decent chunk of both Saturday and Sunday working on it too, just tidying up various things. I spent about 6 or 7 hours cleaning it (it hasn't had a thorough clean in 10 years). I needed lacquer thinner to get some of the crap off the bumper... And still plenty to do . This week at the panel beaters for tidying up the (PO) damage to the front and a f'glass bonnet install. Alternator has packed up. Need longer handbrake cables. Reinstall oil cooler. Put stickers all over it. Freakin' door mirror let go its seal (mirror bit falls out). And make a helmet net (I'm not paying $50 for one of those)!Basically, once the Targa is over, I will park the BMW and forget about it till after Christmas. I'll spend the time making myself happy with the 911. Then I'll move onto the '75. I had intended to have it ready for my wedding in July, but I suddenly realised that might not be doable. I've spent too much on the other two so not only do I have no time but no $$$. So memo to PP BBSers. One project is enough. Two is silly. Three is crazy (basically I have two projects and the '75, which is just a garage ornament). Cam

Buy the way, I remember somone once asking where does one keep all these cars.
The '75 is in "my" garage. The BMW is outside occasionally but has spent more time in my ownership in the race prep shop than at home (they worked on it in between more profitable business). And the '69 is living at my fiance's house. Her parents cleaned out the (tiny) garage under the house for me. How sweet is that? Kickass

Cam, I do admire what you are doing. And I'm not making fun of you, but has it never occured to you your fiance's parents have had ulterior motives in making room for the 911 at THEIR place. If you leave your fiance standing at the altar you don't get the car back.

Did you not see the pics of him and his fiancee at the track? Leaving her at the altar would make a credible case for having Cam declared mentally insane and put in an institution!

Good point. I definitly wouldn't leave her standing at the altar.
Mind you, Cam would probably like being put in an instutution - that way he would never have to put the '75 car back together. |

Yeah Bill - you might be right (the first time).
That explains why her Dad asked if it was ok if he bought a shotgun to the ceremony. Or what Emanuel said. But being committed would be nice. No-one would ask when the '75 was going to be finished, just like Bill said.

This picture however, makes me less sure (I am gradually getting this further and further off-topic).
It was my Aunt's 40th Birthday and my family and Anna went as the Jackson Five... well we thought we were funny.

Right! That's it. I'm closing this thread!
Roosters are from the Kiwi republic of Bondi anyway. So I guess we won after all
