911 sc 1980 3 litre

can anyone help me on wheels and tyres for my 1980 911 sc .i am hearing reports that it is difficult to obtain decent road tyres for15 inch wheels.

Without having to alter wheel arches what is the next size up wheel and tyre combo i can use ?

Many Thanks

16x7 front with 205/55 with 16x8 rear on 225/50 is a popular upgrade.

There many brands of tires available in those sizes as well.

By the spelling of "tyres" I would believe that you are located in somewhere other than the US?

Factory option for your car was 16", generally 6" front and 7" rear, with 205/55-16 front and 225/50-16 read. Same sizes with 8" rear also fit perfectly. Most people can use 7" on the front, if the car is not too low. The wider wheels are often more expensive, however.

More expensive is an understatement. The price difference from 7x16 to 8x16 is pretty dramatic and even more so to 9x16. At least if we are talking Fuchs...
