gear ratios
Bit of a noob question here, but in my 78 911, the 4th and 5th gear are exceptionally close in gearing. Perhaps 500 rpm different at speed.
Is this normal, sort of an overdriveish type of thing, or have my hears been modified for more track use type of thing? |

Your owners manual has a gear chart in it that will give you road speed vs. rpm in each gear.

That doesn't sound right. If you give us approximate rpms at the same speed in the two different gears it will be pretty easy to calculate which one is not stock and roughly what ratio it might be.
