Question on VTO Speedlite wheels
Any experience by forum members running VTO Speedlites? Thoughts and opinions regarding finish, build quality and customer service? Also, I am considering running rear 16x8s on a 1984 Carrera - when asking VTO they provided the following: "We have 16x8 in 8mm+ offset. We are fairly (sic) certain these would work, but you should double check..."
will these fit?????? Any feedback is greatly appreciated - |

Had Vto 16x8 on a variety of 911's. No problem, unless you get too aggressive with tire widths. 225's weren't bad, but rubbed on one car....can be cured with rolled fenders and/or alignment, more negative camber.

I think dug@project914 had a pair of 8's for sale a while back, here in the 911 classifieds...not sure of the offset. They are in addition to the beautiful set charcoal ones he has for sale...bump for great looking set of wheels.

I had 16x7 and 8 on a 73 with sc rear flares. This was back when they had a different name/distributor (wolf pack racing??). If you search with my name as thread starter you can probably find some info. I had no complaints. FWIW I went from 15s to 16s and with that car/trans/eng combo there was a very noticeable difference in performance going to the larger heavier wheels and tires. Great customer service and they looked fantastic. I think its a completely different distributor now so I dont know if any of it translates to today. I think my old gulf blue 73 is still on their website as an example?

Eric, don't forget, not just heavier but stickier tires I assume when going from 15's to 16's so that added grip on takeoff could be mistaken for added mass. I suppose.
