Does anyone know where Singer get their amazing woven leather from?

https://www.spinneybeck.com/index.php?/shop/products/leather-weave-lw is what I've heard people say is the source, although there's a question of if it's embossed or actual weave. A fellow on rennlist did an amazing 964 with this stuff. The embossed has two different weaves: https://www.spinneybeck.com/index.php?/shop/products/embossed-el

It's woven. You can see the material with the untrimmed edges on some their videos and photos.

You can get it from spinneybeck or Garrett. Singer gets it from spinneybeck, I asked them at rennsport. You can buy it from either company, no problem. I asked Garrett and it cost 500 bucks a square yard. Ouch.

More interesting is that they use both brass and nickel grommets, Again I asked them. These are the standard marine grade grommets. I also asked the what they do about the brass turning green and the nickel turning blackish. Because it will stain your clothes. He told me he knows they turn color and they use a product to help with this. Again a standard marine product. But with the sweat from your body it will likely be a constant battle. I suggested they take aluminum marine grommets and anodize them what ever color they want. This way they wouldn't discolor and could survive the grommet press machine.

Just been in touch with spinneybeck.
Minimum order is 1 roll of 1.7sqm (2 linear meters x 0.9)
Cost – USD $1281.00 plus $270.00 freight to Australia, making total – USD $1551.00. Ouch as sleepy911 said.

Back to embossed basket weave I think

Good research jedwards1123... Im quoting up the interior for my very worn, tattered, almost 50 year old 912 interior now.. would be interesting to see what the cost difference would be between the weave and a tooled leather which would match the Porsche Basket Weave. There is a good website which I cannot read a word of Autosattlerei & Polsterei ARTUR in Freilassing - Leder & Kunstleder - Perforationen / Prägungen which has some colour alternatives with the same pattern basket weave Porsche used in the early 911/912s. This might be an option for a cool interior paying homage to the Porsche factory look.

Forget those brass and nickel grommets. Go stainless!

Your link was for the nickel grommets. Here's stainless from the same place...

Does anyone know where Singer gets their colored square weave carpets from? I am trying to source a Spinneybeck orange color and cannot find the German square weave in this color. Please help!

That is pretty cool. Also totally makeable. Find a nice thin leather cut some strips and weave it. Not hard.

Now how long is that stuff going to look pristine? I can see it on a dash or door panels, but on seats?? Snag-o-rama.

I'll had to check my records, as it's been a few years since I did that car. I also covered the door cards, kick panels and dash in leather. I ordered 2 hides of the smooth leather (more than I needed as I liked the basketweave better) and a 27" wide by 295" long roll of the basket weave. The basket weave is made to order.

Very nice work! I'm doing similar in my Beck 904 build. I already have these two Spinneybeck colors picked out for both the main and bi-weave (two colors). I just need to find someone who makes the Tivoli Garden color orange square weave carpet. I wish I knew or could get a resource at Singer Design to tell me where to get that carpet! Any suggestions would help.

You might check with Relicate. They sell square weave carpet. I'll also ask my upholstery installer as he may know where you can find orange square weave. You might also call Emory as they often have colors in their carpet. But I think they source their interior materials at Relicate.
