Bent bell crank?

Would you mind telling me if the bell crank (left side) from the throttle linkage in the engine bay is supposed to be bent or not. It goes into a '79 SC. Thanks!

Hey Draco, I checked out your thread, but I didn't see any information about the crank itself. I just replaced the bushings (plastic). Do you see how the crank on the left is bent to the left a bit? I don't know if this is factory or not.

Post #3 I am showing the Bell Housing side of the arm:

Just straighten her out. But it will require you to make some fine adjustments on the linkage to put back to OEM specs.

Oh I see. Thank you. So, it's supposed to be straight. Do you have any idea what has caused it to bend?

Perhaps. I'd hate to think that someone would be so negligent.

Just make sure it does not bind anywhere.

Mine is also bent...
Someone must be running around bending them after dark.
Can i get the part numbers for the bushings that go with this rod thingie? Mine are long gone and i can't seem to navigate the pelican parts lookup well enough to be sure I've found the right part.

Mine gets bent every time I drop the engine, because that ball cup connection on mine is particularly tight. Just bend it back straight. Don't overbend it, it will bind if you get it kinked inwards. Straight or outwards slightly is just fine.

when fitting carbs to achieve full throttle linkage at times has to be manipulated.... if you are running carbs and it throttles well leave it where it is...
