Pilot bearing p/n for 1979
I have a '79 SC engine for which the flywheel may not be the original.
Can anybody tell me the differences in the bearing? PP lists 2 p/ns with an engine # cutoff but I'm not sure if my flywheel is original to this engine. Maybe the flywheels are not interchangeable? Thanks

Thanks. Maybe I did not read carefully enough, I thought the simple style had 2 versions.

You can use the earlier flywheel with the press-in pilot bearing on early or late crankshafts. But you can't use the later flywheel on the earlier crankshaft because the early crankshaft is not drilled and tapped to mount the later pilot bearing.
Make sense?
