Bisimoto Pulse Camber...

Ok...I'm known to just pull the trigger and do things to my car that may or may not be the best for a daily driver...but this may be the most outrageous so far.
This thing is loud...wife says she can hear me blocks away just burbling through the neighbourhood...
the dB meter on my phone registers 86 at idle 10 ft away, (for comparison, the Monty came in at 68).

Hey Joe, yeah it's loud. With my sport Cat, it's a straight pipe. LOUD. But pretty awesome. The idle is the best part. Did you cut ? If not, maybe you could do some measurements for me.

I had the same results when I tried it. Harleys didn't have anything on me. I too have a cat delete pipe on now. I'm going to put my cat back on and see if it's easier on the ears.

Too good to be true. I don't think I would like it for too long.

I am interested to hear how it sounds cruising around at 3k in third gear.

I couldn't live with that for a street car. The bet the drone is horrific. Then again I hate the sound of Harleys with straight pipes too.

No drone really. You can have a conversation. I like Harley's, so... It does have a wonderful burble coming off the gas, snapping and popping. Did I say it was loud. I'm not so sure about the HP gains, but you lose the weight of the stock muffler where you need it the most.

Come on... Steady interstate speed at low rpm and no drone???

I think it depends on the definition of drone. The common thought is that what many refer to as drone is from pulsations between two pipes of a dual exhaust.
It is thus felt that all single-out mufflers have no drone. In our cars this tends to occur between 2-3K rpm and is a low to medium frequency. My dansk sport dual out has it most notably between 2rpm and 2500rpm, tapering off as you hit 3K. I keep cruising at 3K or above and it is a non-issue.

But drone to others is just a frequency of noise that is annoying and more notable at a certain rpm (cruising is the one that gets most people, to a lesser degree idle). I suppose many mufflers can meet that criterion to someone out there. Others might describe it as booming, most of us get upset when a muffler is simply too loud.

I'll try and get some decibel readings over the next few days in the car at various speeds but...this is seriously loud...a rumbling growl idling along then a wicked bark when you jump on it...cant stop grinning 😜

Well...after driving to work this morning, (5:30 am), came to the conclusion that this is just too loud for the street, even for me, (how about an ear bleeding raspy staccato at full revs), soooo...I put the cat back on and while the rumble at idle is still there, (though reading about 4 dB less at 10 feet than without the cat)...the sharp bark is gone replaced by a deep growl as the revs climb. This I believe is what was intended by Bisimoto in the first place and it's rather intoxicating.
Just to add, our bedroom is above the garage, wife informed me that the bed started shaking when I started it up.

Yay, some real world experience. I was reading the org Bisimoto thread and was dieing to post about this setup being to good to be true. I'm not bashing here at all, but there have been so many exhaust threads that it gets dizzy. Then comes this setup, which has its place for sure, but like the GT-3 muffler that I bought and installed for my street car, that thing came off after less than 300 miles of driving.

Too good is what I say... As an old street drag racer, what we'd do is uncork our headers. Meaning, we had a mechanism to uncouple the restrictive exhaust and let it flow. This also can be accomplished similar to the GT-3 muffler with baffles. I asked Mr Bizi to create one, while I attempt to create my own. This would be for long trips etc. easy on and off, Quiet-Riot, or mechanical valve.

My 79 race car has a Buckley race exhaust. Basically headers and straight pipes. It's obnoxious. It's tolerable with radio ear pieces in and a helmet on. No way I could drive that on the street. Even if you could tolerate the volume and drone, you'd look like an @$$hole to the general public driving around you lol.

The general public never liked me anyway! So my only modification to my current setup would be a baffle system. My system is stock except a 200 cell sport cat which added a lot of extra flow compared to the original catalyst. I've rarely have had anyone say anything negative to my face, Mr Dog. Did you buy your "race car" set up that way, or did you use your ingenuity and engineering know how to create it?

Thanks
