Beru wire longevity

I have been running Beru wires on my SC since purchasing 12 years ago.

My first mechanic put In a set of the early non braided type that lasted three years before they went bad and gave me a light show all over the engine bay.

Following that I bought a set of the correct stainless braided berus. No light show but i suspect these are now toast after 9 years (maybe 15-18k miles).

I understand it's the heat that probably does these in vs. miles, but....

Is this all the life you get out of these things?

I know people love the magnecors etc, but curious if this is atypical or now the norm with the quality of products today.

If your car is running great, no missing, then there is no reason to buy wires. Good wires can last a heck of a long time.

9 years ? What exactly did you expect ? They need to contain very high energy, if you get my drift, and FWIW, if you get a crossfire situation, the backfire will destroy your airbox.

Now what would you pay ?

I guess 9 years is a long time, but it seems like I put them in yesterday and mileage is very light. Also I see folks claiming their original berus lasted 30 years...

I've got another set on the way courtesy of gift cards from my kids so no sweat.
