All cleared up now; in the photo above the pin orientation on the non-prime version is correct and that's how they're being shipped.

And finally after more than 30 years, my relay gave up and stranded me like 2 miles away from home. I had a brand new relay from URO which worked, but it sounded like my car was running on 3 cylinders.
Finally made it home and immediately ordered a Solid State relay which I receive today, but have not installed it yet. Here is a pic of the relay!!!:eek::eek:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583194124.JPG |

No issue with solid state and loving it! The fuel pump Priming is a big plus!

10/26/20 EDIT: Good news, Nene sent us a PM saying, "the issue was NOT your DME relay, it was a bad injector."
We sold our first-generation relay 911 618 154 00 from 2011 to late 2019, and have been shipping our redeveloped second-generation relay since late 2019. The first-gen relay did have issues, which is why we discontinued it and started fresh. |
I can say with 100% certainty that you will not find better after sales service from the good people at F9T. My fuel pump prime relay gave a bit of trouble and even though I think it may have been out of warranty, Joe responded within minutes of my inquiry offering a replacement. That kind of treatment is rare and very welcomed, many thanks for a fine product and super service!

A couple more revolutions can be beneficial before firing. |

Yes, a couple of those joints look questionable. Reflow them all and give it a try.

I do indeed carry a spare German made DME relay in the glove box along with spare fuses, and a piece of string trimmer sting to get into the fuel door if that handle breaks. I have never needed any of those items yet, but I have them with me all the time. My 1985 OEM DME from relay lasted until 2004, and 115,000 miles or so. I am at 191,000 miles now. |

Mine is the early version, with no diagnostic lights on it like the new ones. I did not write down the date of the installation in my log of work done on the car, and estimated from other things done back then. I had to estimate, and wow, was I off. After 27 years of ownership llots of projects, they do blur together. |
Is the solid state DME still available and at what price?

I'm curious just how fast the engine starts with the fuel prime. Mysocal probably knows this on the top of his head assuming it fires up on first spark. Even in "modern" cars, it takes a sec or two. |
