(Another) Wheel Fitment question
Hello.
'77 911S here with 930 fenders front and rear and standard running gear outback (non-930). Time to (at last) replace the chewed up wheels it has had since I bought it (and that I hate). I have never gotten a definitive answer to this question, just lots of "maybes" and "you might try" etc. Since the full set + tires could be easily into the $5k range, would prefer to get it right without any guess work. The Minister of Finance has given her nod, so... I've got some 16s in 7s and 8s, know those won't fit without spacers, but could have them done up by a competent person like Weidman. Thinking of going Outlaw Fifteen52 as well, but in either case: 1) Want to make sure I'm buying the right offsets. Anyone with a M491/non-930 widebody happen to know the correct offsets F&R? 2) Would either go 16 or 15. Tire choices for the latter appear to be limited to Michelin TB15 or Pirelli P7 CC. Not a racer, does anyone have experience with either on the street? Are my choices in 16s better or worse? Thanks all! --P p.s. Assume this question's been asked and answered a few times, but my search fu is not functioning this morning. If a thread exists, feel free to point me to it.

Decide on tire sizes first. Below is a picture of my 80 SC with standard suspension. Rears are 17x11 et-19 with a 12mm spacer (effectively et-31). I have 275/40 tires on them and it's very flush to the fender.
Fronts are 17x9 et8 with a 245/40 tire. Good fitment without any rubbing. If I were to do it again I'd stick with my tire sizes and get a 10.5 wide wheel in the back. PM me if you have questions. ![]()

Thank you very much. I'd have guessed the 17" would look 'too large,' but that's outstanding. Thanks very much, may PM you about tire choices at 17". That'd be my primary motivator for going that large on the wheel.

Bumping my own thread for another opinion. I think Sicklyscott is pretty much right on the money, but as I'm about to drop several thou on the set, I'd just like a little confirmation. Found and used an online calc for the following measurements. Also the wheels and tires came on the car... why the PO stretched a 245 onto an 11" is not a move I'd have made.
Look about right? TIA! ![]() ![]()
