911SC Door Panel Plastic Clips ("Niblees") Needed or Screws Instead?

If you don't have easy access to parts, is it terrible to use screws for 911SC door panel mounting?

I don't have any of the white or black door panel clips at all and I have to mount my door panels. I've seen screws used on early 911 and 912 door panels.

Is the only reason not use screws cosmetic, because they squeeze foam suppleness of the panel and cause an indentation or some other reason?

These are the clips I don't have:

If you have a "regular" parts store in your area - you might be able to find a generic size (not specifically for Porsche) that would work.

There aren't such stores within at least 1,000 miles from me.

Yes, because it really isn't reversible; once you puncture the fabric and panel it will always have the holes in it.

Clearly your geographical location is not conducive to getting parts, maybe try some double stick tape or something that won't wreck the panel until you can place an order for all the odds and ends you need? Maybe send them to a friend if delivery options are few?

Best of luck, most of us get antsy when we have to wait a couple days for parts!

Perfect idea! I found some 3M double stick 3lb. velcrow tape. I can use spots of that, will even give easy access. Might even be better idea than the original anchors!
