Thanks for all the replys ! All bases have been covered, thanks again to your inputs ! What has driven home my decision is the question that was asked: Am I saving this for someone else, or did I buy it to have fun ? Hell, I'm in my fifties, can afford it, might get hit by a bus tomorrow, so I think I'm going to have some fun !

BLOWN: Headers are GHL stainless w/ heat ! Sound good ?

I'm in the group that would feel that as long as the modifications are of a tasteful nature or are preventative maintenance measures (upgraded oil coolers/Carrera-style chain tensioners etc) then I, as a prospective buyer would be encouraged, rather than frightened by them.

If someone started fitting Enkei 19" gold alloys and started ricing the car up, I'd run for the hills. I have developed a mathematical formula for Porsche modifications:

911s + "bling" = Resale Disaster!

If the "mod" is reversible then fine. Most folks are looking for un-molested cars.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
If you intend to keep the car "forever" then do what you will. Most cars end up being resold (don't ask me why?), just looking for something better... You will never recover the investment in the mods

Thanks to everyone's input. The decision has been reached. In 2 1/2 weeks the car is off to Imagine Auto for the upgrades.

Orph,

Kinda cold up in Freeport this time of year. Good time to work on the car.

I have been to Freeport many a time to help out at the Goodyear plant.

I saw the waterfall in the park one afternoon and thought that an early morning picture of it would be great. Pulled in there at sunrise and found out that they turn the pumps off at night! I was let down!!

Good luck with your baby. Make her sing!!!!!!!

WTH are you thinking? Why would anyone ever mod their car? What a horrendous waste of time and money!

I know this one joker who has a 1977 911S targa, which has been converted to a turbo bodied cab, with a C2 engine lid, RSR front bumper, GT2 rear bumper, Recaro seats, 964 engine, 930 brakes, home-made aluminum splitter, a roll bar (so why not just leave it a targa?) and it was re-painted red from the factory yellow.

What a poseur!

There's a category of "rehashed" Porsches that will never sell as well as others....

just try not to be in that category.

other than that, just do what makes you happy.

The data in the CD-type disc decodes easily into ASCII computer text as follows, using 8 bit binary:
*
"Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged Word). There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING (BELL SOUND)”
*
The damaged word would appear to be intended as “BELIEVE”.

i would generally go for a stock car over a modified one. one thing upgrades don't do is ADD value. so you ain't gonna recover their cost.

i like upgrades that are easily reversible and /or invisible - ie shocks, t/bars.
