Phoenix Arizona help? Need 295/30R18 today! 3/18/17

Ok gang. I'm kinda in a fix. My wife and I am are at the airport waiting to board a plane from Chicago to Phoenix where we are picking up a car and turning right around for a 25 hr drive home. We have a window of about 4 hours Saturday around noon in Phoenix to get a couple of rear tires.

I decided on Tuesday to buy a 996 Turbo and have managed to sort out all other details except getting much needed rear tires! The tires on the rear of the car now are bald and making a 1700 mile drive is questionable.

I called around Phoenix and none of the stores seem to stock this size. I'm hoping someone in Phoenix has a set of usable take-offs or hell I'll buy tires off your car!

295 or 315 wide tires should work... if nothing I may just have a tire shop flip the tires.

Anyone?

No time for "shoulda" " couldas" ... just need to resolve this

Check firestone, Big-o, walmart, Discount. Phoenix is the 6th largest city in America. There are hundreds of tire stores. Are you just trying to match the front? Why not put fresh rubber all the way around? Looks like you could go a little taller? Is a 30 series stock? Seems pretty low profile. Sorry I know nothing about 996s. BTW congrats! Arizona cars are the driest!

Hi Duane. I would go all the way around new, but the issue is the wide rears. If I can't get rears...

I'll do some drive-by shopping when we have the car, but I'm not hopeful one of those stores will have 300-ish wide 18s sitting around.

Maybe Porsche of $cottsdale has a set of rears or some leads and they would be open Saturday. The city is effectively 100 miles wide, so what side of town is the car on?

Craigslist has some wheels/tires. you might be able to buy the used back tires from this guy, they don't look great, but at least they are not bald. :-D

If it were me = I would just flip them on the wheels and buy what you want when you get home . . . you may have to sweet talk a shop to do this because of the wear bar showing on one side . . .

Regards,
