NY / Northern NJ / and CT usually meet up at the Vince Lombardi rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike for a 7am depart. So be there early to gas up and get coffee. There is Tier 1 gas, Starbucks and Burger King. Last year we got to Hershey around 9am.

The weather is looking to be in the high 60s to low 70s and sunny. Should be a nice weekend.

Just done cleaning my plugs, plug wires, distributor, tap the height a bit and the only thing left is a oil change! Ready to roll down to Hershey!

I usually take I-78 just in the interest of time. I use Rt 22 a lot - I'm not sure how it is supposed to be more fun in a Porsche. It's mostly straight and flat, the tractor trailers clog the traffic and everything backs up at the intersections.

I know the back roads between Allentown and Reading, between Reading and Hershey not so much. I made the mistake of taking 422 home last year - yuck.

I don't travel with the RTR crowd because they take the Turnpike and leave to late.

I picked out some roads that look better for this year.

I'm thinking that I will arrive around 8:00.

Is there a Pelican meet up again this year? Crab shack at Noon? (Noon is to late. It should be at 10:30 or 11:00).

You can drop down 1/2 mile lower and take old route 22 once you pass the Allentown exits and still make good time with a nicer route IMO.You could also drop lower yet through the PA countryside that has some great scenic routes west to Hersey.

Just leave a 1/2 hr earlier,be careful and watch out for the Amish horse and buggies.

Weather is looking a bit dodgy now. I'll probably take the truck up.

I saw the weather change for sat maybe 10x since the beginning of this week. Now it seems to be staying steady at 65 and partly cloudy. Low chance of rain.

looks like perfect weather for those of us with no heat or a/c :P

I'm personally looking forward to my first trip back since the accident that lead to my backdate.

Completely agree with you on all counts. I will not do the RTR deal. Too much hassle. I like to jump in my car and go whenever I feel like it.

My father and I took 422 back our first year. I think I aged during that trip! LOL. Hershey to Wayne is too long on 422!

Anyone have a booth or spot that would like to share some of the cost? I have a few Porsche parts to sell, but no where near enough for a whole spot. PM, happy to share the cost.

Steve

Will Pelican Parts have a display there? I cannot remember seeing them there when I went two years ago.

From what I understand, they've never been here. I'm sure they'd like to, would strengthen the presence in the east coast.

The biggest problem with shows is staffing, you're asking people to fly out the other coast, work on the weekends, the weather here can be unpredictable so
you have to pick and choose the events. This one is not easy for them I'm sure.

Agreed...I've been watching the weather forecast all week and I have the luxury of just not driving less than 1.5 hours if it doesn't look good. I have a pp gift certificate, so was wondering if it was worth folding it up and bringing it.
