Help locating cooing fan extension deflector on back of alternator

I'm looking for the equivalent of part number 91110605501 but for my 1983 3.0.

I searched on the Pelican site but came up with nothing. Does anyone happen to know the part number for this item for my 1983?

I read thru a couple of posts and it looks like it's purpose is the cool cyl 1 and 2. I assume that makes this a critical part and I shouldn't skip it, correct?

Don't know the part number but it's definitely critical. Try used parts classified.

I had the same problem for my -81 SC and ended up buying the one for the 3.2. I fits but you need to trim a little on the plastic by each screw to get it to seat properly.
Part # 91110605501

And I believe that if you have the alternator with the built in voltage regualtor then the 3.2 version is the one you need. It has a notch for the regulator.

Alternator guide notch.

I had to extend the voltage regulator notch on the
air guide when I replaced the VR regulator as the new
regulator is larger than the factory original that came with the car.

I am more than certain the air guide on my 82SC has the cut out for the voltage regulator 180 degrees opposite the one in the above photo, as the metal vanes on mine were slightly loose so I drilled out the rivets and replaced them to tighten things up. The upper vane wasn't hanging in the breeze as above, and the voltage regulator was oriented on the bottom of the assembly.

Here is a link to the Porsche TSB:

Just turn the alternator 180 degrees if you use the 3.2 version of the air guide on your SC with internal regulator. I still have the original alternator with external regulator so I now have an empty notch at the top.

I'm not 100% sure because I'm on my work VPN and its slow and often blocks anything that I find interesting....but is it here?: http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

I'm going to bookmark it and check it out later. We should have new folks (myself included here) swear on a bible that they have viewed it and dedicated it to memory!
