What should I do with my bumpers??
The restoration process has begun. First I'm having a glass out full respray but need opinions on what to do about my bumpers. All 3 pieces of the rear bumper may need to be replaced because of prior damage. Rear chrome bumper guards have significant pitting too.
The front bumper has a solid dent in it which may or may not come out. Plus I would want to get rid of the front chrome bumper guards regardless (don't like the look). 2 options - replace as stock aside from the front bumper guards. I would probable need to replace all the rubber moulding. Or should I just replace whole thing with a fiberglass bumper and "de-chrome" it? I am not a purist and kinda like the outlaw look. Car will be eventually set up for track days too. Rear decklid needs to be replaced too because of damage. ![]() ![]() |

Banned but not out, yet..

Remove the rubber and deco strips and front overriders. Have the dent professionally removed. Have the holes in the bumpers filled, I used bondo, and either paint or buy RS like bumper stripes to mimic the rubber strips.
Like said above, You want steel on Street and FG at the track. My body shop loves Street 911s with FG bumpers since the damage on rear enders are so much more severe, but it's your money.
