DIY on backdating heater ducts

Backdating the heater with the new SSIs and wondering if anyone had a step by step for me. Picked up L and R 73' heater ducts and want to do it right. Any help?
Thanks

The right (passenger) side is a piece of cake. Just replace the existing block off plate with the ducted plate. The driver side takes a bit more work since the distributor cap will not fit if the duct is left in its stock form. I removed the cap, installed the duct, covered the area on the duct where fitment is tight with blue tape and persuaded fitment with a hammer and a piece of 2x4. You just have to slightly hammer in the duct tin in for clearance of the cylinder 4 plugwire.

good luck!

Great thanks, hope it is as easy as that sounds.

I just finished modifying the duct for our 79SC last night. I went a little more extreme and actually cut the duct and welded in a new curved piece to clear the distributor. It is now similar to the factory early turbo duct but cost way less.

I also cut my duct and fiberglassed a piece in. The correct turbo left side piece is $152.00.

Funny, I sourced the used 930 part from a parts supplier for $35. Works very well and no fittment issues.

Slider, I know that you can get in trouble for posting other vendors on the web. I'll send you a PM.

Wayne's too good to me to jeopardize my chances, even though he doesn't sell used parts.
