Steve Steigman 911 blowing the roof off

These posters are very rare, and the Lithographs are even more rare and sought after. It is thought that the distribution of these items was halted by a lawsuit by Porsche; Then Maxell tapes and Lars Anderson settled and agreed to not distribute these prints and posters. Steve Steigman was the photographer but you will never find these works in his collection. Steve Steigman died in Oct 2004. The lithographs are like the posters only with a wide band of grey on the top and bottom. Value of a perfect poster is $1200 to $1500 and the Lithographs between $10,000 and $20,000. It is though that only three Lithographs were distributed in Eroupe and all others were destroyed. This version of the Maxell ad has never been reproduced.

So DJ: are you saying that the one I posted with the gallery's name on it is a lithograph?

Yes, from the information that I gathered online, the grey border with the Weaver gallery name (no Maxell ad info) is a gallery litho.

Dave you are a research and documentation guy. It seems to me that the lack of information regarding the "Blown Away Targa" image indicates that something was up with the image and copies. Law suit, Rights to image???

It doesn't seem a big jump to imagine that Steigman originated the photo in the style of the his original Maxell "Blown Away" and sold it's use to Maxell. As we know, Porsche controls "The" image and they came after everyone who had a piece of the Targa image. Things were different in 1985 when pressure was applied and it has been crickets ever since.

917 corner. Two prints from Rennsport IV and a postcard signed by Hans Herman....got to meet him at an event at the Quail during Rennsport. Above is an image my friend Paul Moseley shot.



Rennsport IV poster. The Rennsport V poster is needing to be framed so I can hang both on the wall. There's a nice collection of Porsche books on the shelves.



And finally a rendering of my car my dad had done. His neighbor is an auto designer who lived and worked in German for many years ...still need to hang this one up, just got it.

The garage walls are pretty well covered with Porsche stuff too.
