Responded to a wtb ad. Immediately dropped the price $1000. Didn’t read what I wrote and insisted upon shipping even though claiming to live in the same state when pickup was offered.

Just dealt with him. Something’s I think these scammers are 12 year olds the way the write and think when they respond to things

I got an email from jwitsel20@gmail.com and texting with 409-422-6008. He’s responding from another user Toomany911s. Now I definitely wonder what’s going on.

Thanks for sharing. I’m texting with the same number and we even had a brief conversation. But he wouldn’t show me the items via video call so I found this thread as things weren’t adding up. Email wasn’t his name and he didn’t have a Venmo that match his name. Also phone number kept changing.

I was just contacted by Den91cr and PatrickWu responding to my same WTB 996 bumper. And both separately sent the SAME pictures of the bumper. I have no idea where they both got the same pictures. I've been searching the internet to buy the bumper and those pictures have not popped up.

Patrick has even given me his home address to meet him on Saturday to pick it up. So odd because the street and town exist, but the number is between two houses. Does he plan on mugging me when I drive up? Or is he just some kid looking for a laugh?

Luckily I checked the post and saw the real seller had replied to me via PM.
Some how Levens had got my email.

I've had 2 replies to the same WTB ad. Both saying similar things. Patrickwu was one of them. The other impersonated luthir2 and his number was (802) 546-1963. Apparently that phone number is used on multiple forums for scamming.

Emailing from a post I made on an ad. I wasted his time for several hours and then sent him a document that I claimed had my bank info. The document is so large and full of junk that it bogged down his computer and slowed him down for hours before he could do much of anything. Hilarious

Hello everyone, I put a WTB ad up yesterday (for an 8-pin CDI box if you happen to have one), and...
"Stanley54" contacted me... with cellphone number +1-805-291-4481.... saying he had one, and proceeded to send me photos that were EXACTLY like the ones posted here:

I thought... maybe he is just lazy, so i requested a photo with a random object, in my case... i asked for a "pen" to be placed on it.


he sent me another photo....with my "screen name" as if that would be sufficient. Little does he know i am a graphics designer (by hobby) and can point out fakes (although that was not necessary in this case as my child could have done a better job)

Wow. FYI, that phone number for Stanley54 is the SAME number that PatrickWu was using with me.

PatrickWu told me he was from 239 Derek Drive, Santa Rosa, CA, 95401. Note that is in Northern California, but the 805 area code is central coast California, down to Ventura. Of course so many people keep old cell numbers when they move. So not much help.

I'm still unclear what he was expecting to do. As I said, we were going to meet up. Was he going to mug me? Or was he going to cancel at the last minute and try to arrange a shipment and payment without meeting?

I just did an online search for the 805 phone number and it also comes up as a scammer on the FT86 (Toyota/Subaru FRS/BRZ) website, giving this info:

I posted on a Ad that I had sent a Pelican a DM.
Then Ava Taylor emails me directly asking if I was still interested in buying as she’d just got my comment on her post.

This one contacted me through PM right after i posted a WTB for a 993 bumper.
The scammer took the pictures from an online shop and sent it to me.
