1988 G50 Race car Tub

Hello all. just a feeler here and any opins on value are welcome

I have 88 G50 tub, professionally stripped, sand blasted, crack checked, primed ( not dipped). NO RUST. Garage stored for about 5 years now. History: I am Original owner, new in 88: garage queen forever. Car was a converted to a race car at about 66 k miles in 2015 ( just before the values of these skyrocketed (story of my life...) , was run at DEs and vintage events for a few years when i first started racing....Drama: Had a shunt at bottom of the hill T12 into tires at Rd Atlanta requiring laser guided straightening on the bench (Done by the Zuf boys in NC) Then I had an engine fire on the lift in my garage and ended up stripping completely for parts. No body panels or suspension : truly a tub. (is on a roller dolly now)
Tub has > $ 10K worth of custom cage welding (done by Doug at Precision Fab. , Limerick PA and The Zuffenhaus boys in Monroe NC). The rear supports are thru firewall onto big plates on the rear rails. THe front supports go past the fuel cell and are tied together. Very solid. The front is rigged for dual oil coolers that exit into the wheel wells. Note custom front shock towers. Seat rails have been lowered. Lots of small fabrication details including , rear firewall access, oil filter mount, fuel tank mounts, and Peterson front oil tank mounts (in smugglers box). In addition to the tub ( for sale separately from the tub) are: front struts with raised spindles, (competition shock inserts), A arms, adjustable square plate monoballs, steering gear and rack , 17 gallon fuel safe cell) , custom fitted oil coolers with all plumbing , peterson front oil sump with thru-cockpit plumbing to motor (20AN feed , 18AN return). rear banana arms, rear 30mm T-bars etc.

Clear PA title in hand.

Seems a great start for a race car or safari build or get the sawzall out and hack it for bits. Not inconceivable for street conversion at the rate these G50 cars are valued....

I can deliver/meet in my hauler within 3-4 hours of philly.

asking $ 9000

Thanks for looking . Frank

Van. that is gorgeous. Love the cage and the motor compartment hoop. i note the upside down gearbox also... but clearly you have moved on from 935s.. What class will you race this in?

Even though I flipped the trans that is not a 935, though I still, have two left. I am supposed to be driving a 935 and a Corvette next weekend at the Sebring Classic.

Van. yes clearly not 935 body work on your build of course..( looks like 993 EVO body work)

I love this sebring event. ..I usually do it. But waiting this year to move car/rig to sebring for january-march events. THere is a very well driven 911 in Apple livery from KMW Motorsports you will likely see there.

Cheers Frank

Why the upside down gearbox in this build? simply better weight distribution?

To take some if the axle deflection out. Car has raised pick up points and was run very low.

I am on the fence about going. My buddy will be there with the GT935 semi and both cars. The Gulf 935 build I oversaw and supplied the Engine , 935 upside-down trans and all the parts for will be there.

Lets be sure to both make it in 2022!

Beautiful Build! Do not remember any 935s running in true Gulf Livery back in the day.....
At Fall Sebring HSR you often see at least th Blue Coral and Sunoco 935s,

Yes lets try for 2022!

BTW the Sportscar Together Festival, SCTF at INDY sponsored by Penske and PMNA was a superb event. Will be interesting to see if they do it again... possibly in lieu of RR.
