I just looked over this thread again and then reviewed original for sale post. I’d agree they were not packaged well but they don’t appear significantly damaged unless I’m missing something. There were also scratches on the original advertisement. I’m not sure what kind of remedy I would be asking for if any.

paypal is a joke. I requested a partial refund. Seller agreed to fraction of the amount. I declined the counter. Now Paypal is asking me to send the coilovers back to seller at my cost for a full refund.
What a joke of the buyer's protection. SMH |

Standard practice for Paypal to make the buyer pay for return shipping in disputed cases. I found this out the hard way as well. The paypal buyer protection has it's limits, but I feel it is better than nothing. Musical instrument gear site Reverb now has packing guidelines and will rule in favor of the buyer if something is damaged and you can prove the packing guidelines were not met.

I completely stopped using Paypal after i packed and shipped at my own cost a roll cage to a member who's active on the 356 forums ... anyhow , seems like the guy changed his mind and never claimed the package from customs and i ended up having to refund the POS and basically had to buy back my own roll cage from the broker and pay some storage penalties before i could have them send it back to me.
Paypal is a friggin joke , i will never use them again for anything ...

These ^^ positions are becoming more frequent. Coupled with PYPal’s recent policy to penalize and charge members’ accounts by as much as $2,500 for comments PAYPAL deems inappropriate, PayPal is now on a self-destruction path.

Looks like it's a lost cause with paypal for me.
Lesson learned. It's not a total burn. But still sucks as a buyer. |

That sucks. Hopefully the damages are cosmetic and after a few hot laps on your daily commute get brake dust dirty and hide the fools idiotic pak job.
I had new performance cams sent my way and they were unwrapped in a shoe box with wadded up news paper thrown on in with them. Not sure if seller was trying to get kindling and paper in fireplace ready for a fire or giving the naked cams something to untangle as they smashed around inside that shoe box halfway across country. Box had Swiss cheese peep holes where the cams tried to make their escape(s). And what were once perfect lobes now looked like faces of plenishing hammers. I've spent weekends packing items before shipping them out, countless hours and it flips my brain when two simple cams show up set inside a Box unwrapped. How hard are two batons to roll into something, ANYTHING, then tape together and roll maybe again in something, ANYTHING?!! ughhh, I just ate the price of the cams and chalked it up to what I've come to expect from this 911 build experience of mine. 25 percent of what's been purchased is as described. But descriptions are relative and one man's trash is another mans.... So I rebuild a lot of "perfect" ect condition second hand parts that' previous owners were really proud of I guess or maybe they haven't ever owned anything that's really "perfect" so they don't know what "perfect" implies or actually means?. Who knows. I know I'd be testing those shocks on our shock table and if they checked out as good I'd be refinishing em and soon thereafter, enjoying them. Good luck and great post IMO. D |

I’ve also looked at the original ad and see a dusty set of shocks with cobwebs, but don’t really see any scratches. Look good to me there.
No loss in functionality because of the scratches but not what the buyer paid for Just a shame the delivery was not rejected when UPS came
