WTB: 47 and 100 microfarad capacitors
Pulled the clock this weekend. Looking for one of each, and I am hoping those Pelicans that did this fix would have the extra ones in the drawer as they are usually sold in packs of 5. Pm or email, thanks.

You can get the 100uf capacitor on EBay, I’ve done the repair, there are two in there. If it’s an earlier clock it may be open at the coil end that is designed to open if it gets too hot. You’ll need the low temperature solder as well for the early clocks, another EBay item. Alex

The only thing I did differently when I was prying back the lip on the housing that might help you is that you don't really need to pry all around the housing. I went from about 11 o'clock to 7 o'clock, slowing and gently prying back the lip with the jewelry screwdriver until I lost leverage against the housing with it. I then went up a size with a flat head screwdriver and repeated the process. I went to a slightly larger third flat head screw drive to get more leverage as you need to pry the lip past the edge of the main housing as it has a lip on it. Once you get the black cover ring past that lip of the metal body from 11 to 7 o'clock you can side slip the ring off. The ring is soft metal, probably aluminum as it is easy to pry back. You'll be able to see if you pried the black clock ring far enough as you will see day light between the black ring you are prying back and the main shiny metal body holding the clock. It was really that easy. Good luck.
