Scammers? Should I trust these users?

Anyone ever deal with users: faz89x or Gebelein25


I posted a WTB ad and both responded saying they have the part one has a phone number but it is a google account the other I am waiting to hear back on.

I would not be in this predicament if patsclassic912 had went thru with our deal on a 964 decklid.

Anyway it seems a bit fishy and they both have low post count and relatively new accounts

I asked the sellers to send pictures of the part with anything that had a current date on it and faz89x responded the part had sold, Gebelein25 said he's at work and will get back to me later with pictures. I hope that I am not being offensive to the sellers but I do not feel confident in dealing with them yet.

Gebelein25 is a scammer. Should have been banned from Pelican long ago.
Both will ask you to send funds vie paypal Friend & Family !

Let me repeat something I have said numerous times before: All you need to do if you see a scammer is report the post, report the PM, or just PM me a username. I am a volunteer, I don't work at Pelican, and I certainly don't have a crystal ball. The only way I can find out about scammers is if someone tells me, which is very easy to do.

I sell a lot on Pelican and some of the parts like engines and trans are pretty pricey. I always advise buyers to do their due diligence. Ask around, search my previous threads and do a FaceTime call with me to see the part "in person". I'm hoping people can be careful and make this site unattractive to the scammers that are starting to overrun the classifieds.

95 % of the time yes but recently I did give a Pelican member the name of a business for a part they were looking for. I myself had dealt with that business and I did let them know my phone number and that I KNOW IT SOUND FISHY BUT THIS IS LEGIT. Still most of the third party references are suspect. Buy safe Thanks Rob.
