The plan was to put this in my 1970 911T, but life has changed. I don't have time for the project, the car is running quite well, and it seems increasingly silly to have an engine under my workbench. Fan, shroud, alternator, but no intake or exhaust.
I purchased it from Dan Jacobs (who pulled it out of the running car), fogged the cylinders, sealed it up, and I turn it over ever month or so. He says it’s a “good motor” and should last the life of the car it goes in. I have compression and leakdown numbers, as well as video of the engine running prior to removal. The engine has 6k miles and a couple of races and track days on it since a professional crank-out rebuild by Gennady Soykher of GT Performance in 2009ish. The following is according to Gennady: Engine was rebuilt due to a missed shift that bent the valves Everything is new and OEM or better—"We don't cut corners" Stock crank, cams, ports Stock redline, stock compression (10.5) OEM 95mm pistons ("possibly Euro") 993 Turbo studs New OEM rocker arms ARP rod bolts with better springs/retainers The engine is located in Hollywood, resting on a dolly. I've never crated and shipped an engine, but I'm willing to give it a whirl if there's no local interest. Otherwise, come on by with a pickup truck and we can drop it in the bed. I might be able to use my truck and deliver it (though I don't know how we'd get it off the truck)! It would pair well with the complete X-Faktory ITB, EFI, crank-fire setup I'm also selling for the same reasons. $18k with wiggle depending on interest and hassle! ![]()
